National parks

Tanzania is home to the most beautiful Nationalparks, offering a huge variety of animals and landscapes. Get to know more about the unique nature of each of the parks and let us know which you would like to explore!

Tarangire

Tarangire National Park is a lovely quiet park in Northern Tanzania most famous for its elephant migration, and birding safari with a quiet atmosphere. Tarangire is filled with giants – stunning baobab trees all across the park, as well as elephants. Of the big cats, you might get the chance to see lions, cheetahs and leopards. And it’s impossible to miss the famous wildebeest, beautiful giraffes, hippos, buffaloes and zebras. Tarangire offers a memorable mix of river woodland, open plains and rolling hills. And some vantage points to take it all in.

Serengeti

Serengeti, a UNESCO world heritage site, is home to around 200,000 zebras, and 300,000 Thomson’s gazelles that join the wildebeests’ trek for fresh grazing. Listen to the exotic sounds of over 6 million hooves pounding the open plains of Serengeti just like how you imagined African wildlife to be. You won’t find many better national parks in Africa than the Serengeti, which has few rivals when it comes to both the numbers and variety of animals. Track down the annual migration of wildebeest and zebra. Enjoy the vast horizons that are perfect for spotting predators (especially lions, leopards, cheetahs, and spotted hyenas) and their prey (buffaloes, impalas, and kongoni), as well as elephants and giraffes. If you’re really lucky you’ll see a hunt, one of the most exhilarating sights anywhere in the wild. And at every turn, revel in its beauty, with flat-topped acacia trees silhouetted against the setting sun, and so many other classic breathtaking African safari images.

Ngorongoro

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA) is an extensive highland area along the eastern arm of the Rift Valley, with the world-renowned Ngorongoro Crater as its focal point. Watch as, from above, morning mist rolls up and over the crater rim, and notice how the steep walls suggest a place unlike any other. Down below on the crater floor, explore a lost world preserved in a state of pristine isolation, one that shelters lions and hyenas, elephants and black rhinos, flamingos and golden jackals. There are also forests, hippo- filled lakes, a salt pan and hyena dens. You’ll never lose the sense that you’ve stumbled into a safari theme park where everything’s wild.

Ngorongoro was established to conserve wildlife and other natural resources. It also safeguards the interests of indigenous people and promotes tourism.

Ngorongoro crater

The Ngorongoro Crater, often referred to as the "Garden of Eden," is a stunning, natural wonder in Tanzania and one of the very rare locations in the whole continent where you can see the black Rhino. Formed millions of years ago by a collapsed volcano, this massive caldera is one of the largest unbroken volcanic craters in the world. Spanning over 12 miles in diameter, it is home to an incredible diversity of wildlife, including the Big Five. The grasslands and freshwater lakes within the crater create a unique, self-contained ecosystem, offering a rare glimpse into Earth's ancient, vibrant life. It's a place where nature's harmony and raw beauty come together in perfect balance and definitely a must see for your safari.

Lake Manyara

Lake Manyara National Park, nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley, is a captivating blend of landscapes and wildlife. Known for its diverse ecosystems, the park features lush forests, open woodlands, and the famous shimmering alkaline waters of Lake Manyara itself. Famous for its large populations of flamingos, it is also home to tree-climbing lions, elephants, and numerous bird species. The park's rich biodiversity, combined with dramatic views of the escarpment, makes it one of Tanzania’s most enchanting and dynamic wildlife destinations, especially for bird lovers.

Arusha Nationalpark

Arusha National Park, a hidden gem in northern Tanzania, is a microcosm of diverse landscapes, from rainforests to savannahs and the tranquil Momella Lakes. Dominated by the majestic Mount Meru, Africa’s fifth-highest peak, the park offers breathtaking views and rich biodiversity. Visitors can spot a variety of wildlife, including giraffes, zebras, and colobus monkeys, along with hundreds of bird species. The park’s serene atmosphere make it an ideal destination for those seeking both adventure and tranquility. Arusha National Park is also an ideal destination for Walking Safaris, experiencing nature and wildlife from the ground.
